16 Weeks!

Starting to show, but feeling pretty good..Still ridiculously tired but nausea has subsided for the most part. Life seems to be moving faster and in no time the baby will be here. With this thought in mind I'm starting to get back to the other reality...to my world pre-baby. I've been working on photography projects (scanning, archiving and organizing) and looking forward to an exhibition I'm having in March. If these things don't get done now they might never happen. Sad thought....I've also started decorating the nursery. We found a crib that we'll pick up this weekend, used our vintage dresser as the the changing table and rummaged through my parents garage to find childhood toys, books and memories. It's been a real treat remembering the past and I'm quite excited to clean the toys and use them for a new generation. Here's pictures of my growing belly.....

13 Weeks and 70% sure it's a BOY!

We'll know more about the sex at our next appointment. We had our first trimester screening today and the technician said from what she can see it's a boy (the baby was moving a lot so she gave it a 70% chance towards boy)!!! Yay! We're excited either way.....Can't wait to meet you little Stella or Donovan!

10 weeks pregnant and 30 more to go...

My first trimester ends very soon and I can't believe how fast it's gone by! Morning sickness has slowed down, haven't had a migraine in 2 weeks and I'm eating a good amount again. I forget to write these moments down. Once the baby comes it will all be a blur and feel like nothing ever happen over these 9 months (or so I believe). For me this post is about savouring every moment and realizing you can't go backwards. In a month I might not even remember what foods I'm having an aversion to or the foods I can't live without (garlic is my aversion and fruit is my craving)! The choices we make everyday effect the days ahead and I hope to take it all in and remember as much as I can. We have another ultrasound next week and I can't wait to see how much the baby has grown. It's quite strange to have so much going on inside you, but can't feel the baby's psychical changes....

9 Weeks

Today was not one of my scheduled visits, but Thursday I began having a tugging sensation on my lower right abdomen, by Saturday it became quite uncomfortable and I found it hard to sleep. This tugging feeling became a sharp pain and by Sunday night I was feeling nervous. I never wanted to be a pregnant woman who calls her doctor for every little problem, but sometimes peace of mind is better than pride. I emailed her and she said everything sounds normal but to come in to make sure. It turns out my uterus is tilted to the right which was putting pressure on the ligaments. Unfortunately there isn't much to be done about this, but from now on, this habitual back sleeper will start sleeping on her left side earlier than expected! At least I was able to see the baby move it's head and arms!!
